Granite is a natural stone quarried from the earth, offering unique patterns. Quartz is an engineered, man-made stone composed of crushed quartz mixed with resin, offering more consistent patterns and colors.
Both are highly durable. Granite is very heat resistant, while quartz is non-porous and generally more resistant to stains and scratches, though it is less heat-resistant than granite.
Granite requires sealing to prevent stains, usually every 1–3 years. Quartz is non-porous and never needs sealing
For outdoor kitchens, we recommend natural stone like granite or quartzite for their durability in heat, humidity, and changing seasons. We also suggest a leathered finish over polished. It reduces glare in direct sunlight and holds up better visually over time. It also adds a subtle texture that works well in outdoor spaces.
We work with granite, quartz, marble, quartzite, soapstone and more!
